There are a lot of different reasons as to why your teeth have changed their color. You could be eating or drinking the wrong thing, you could be a smoker and the tobacco could leave a stain, or even something as simple as a mouth injury or a certain medication that you might be taking can change the color of your teeth. But no matter what the reason is, no one wants to walk around with stained teeth so we go to the dentist and get our teeth whitened.
The process of teeth whitening is a really easy and simple one. You have two choices of bleach options that are safe for your teeth, one being carbamide peroxide and the other one being hydrogen peroxide. You pick a bleaching option and soak your teeth with it. The chemicals in these two bleaches will break down the teeth stains into smaller segments and make your teeth brighter so that the stains are less noticeable.
If you are curious as to how you can whiten your teeth, well, there are a couple of different options. You could go to the dentist office and get your teeth whitened straight from there. You could also go to the store and buy stain removing toothpaste which has the bleaching chemicals in it and will do its job as you brush your teeth in the morning and at night. You can talk to your dentist and ask about getting an at-home bleaching kit so you don’t have to go to the dentist office every time you want to brighten your smile. Or you could go with the teeth whitening strips that they sell at the store and you wear it like braces all day and it will slowly brighten your smile as your day goes on.
People who do decide to whiten up their teeth can experience some tooth sensitivity but as long as you take breaks in between whitening and you don’t overdo the whitening process you should be fine. If you overdo it, it can cause gum damage and ruin your enamel so if you are doing this at home and by yourself, make sure you know when to take a few days off.
It’s best to remember that not all teeth get the same results when it comes to whitening so you should always talk to your dentist and get their opinion on what you should be doing in order to get your teeth back to the bright, white pearls they used to be.
