Single Tooth Replacement in Colorado Springs, CO
Your One Stop Dental Private Practice in Colorado Springs, CO
When a single tooth is missing, the two most common options for replacing it are a traditional tooth-supported bridge or a single tooth implant supported crown.
A traditional bridge can be very functional and esthetic for a period of time and can be fabricated relatively fast. The disadvantages are that the adjacent teeth must be reshaped or cut down to fit the cemented bridge. With time the adjacent teeth may be susceptible to decay. A traditional tooth-supported bridge also does not stabilize the jawbone where the tooth was lost resulting in continued bone resorption in that area.

- Costs LESS than a bridge for a single tooth
Colorado Springs Single Tooth Implant Solutions
A single tooth implant supported crown may replace almost any missing tooth, provided there is adequate bone level at the site. If not, modern procedures can usually be performed to acquire enough bone to place an implant safely.
The dental implant is placed in the bone below the gums. During the healing process, a cosmetic temporary tooth (flipper) can often fill the missing place.
After healing, the abutment is attached to the implant, and an impression is taken to make the crown match your existing teeth.
In the final step, the beautiful hand-made porcelain crown is cemented onto the abutment. The tooth has been replaced to prevent further bone loss without disturbing the healthy teeth on either side.
